Around 1,500 people, including students, teachers, BSF personnel, JK Police personnel, district officials and local residents participated in a Border Marathon organised here today from border village Dab to Baba Chamliyal Shrine in Ramgarh sector. District Election Officer (DEO) Rajesh Sharma, along with Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vinay Kumar, led the mega voter awareness event as part of the ongoing Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.

In the presence of Election Expenditure Observer Karthik Manickam M, the marathon was flagged off from Government Middle School Dag to Baba Chamliyal Shrine, located near the International Border (IB) in Ramgarh. The scenic and symbolic route celebrated the region’s harmony between civilian and defence personnel while promoting electoral awareness among the public.

At the end of the marathon, three winners were recognized for their outstanding performances. The First Place was bagged by Parveen Kumar, SPO, Police Post Rajpura, while Vinay Kumar from GHSS Nandpur ended as first runner up and   Sumit Singh from GHSS Arvind Ghosh Vijaypur as the second runner up.

The event was a huge success in furthering the district's efforts to maximize voter participation, particularly in border areas.
