Mina Latif Bhat, DDC member from Kakapora, resigned from the basic membership of the BJP. Mina Latif is notable for being the first female from the Kashmir Valley to win a DDC election on a BJP ticket from Kakapora.

In a media interaction, Mina expressed disappointment, stating that despite their hard work in establishing the party's presence in areas traditionally dominated by separatist influence, neither her name nor her father's, who serves as the district president in Pulwama, was included in the recent mandate list.

The BJP announced its candidates for the valley, including Javeed Qadri from Shopian, Rafiq Wani from Anantnag, Showkat Gayoor from Pampore, and Arshid Bhat from Rajpora constituencies. Various other leaders shown thier resentment against the party in candidate selection of assembly elections 2024.
