Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba Abhishek Sharma on Tuesday chaired a crucial meeting here in the DC Office Conference Hall to review security arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2024 (SANJY). Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vinay Kumar briefed the chair regarding the security arrangements across lodgment centers and along the National Highway.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Suresh Sharma, highlighted the comprehensive arrangements made at 26 lodgement centers, including provisions for bedding, sanitation, water, electricity and dining facilities for the yatris. The DC welcomed the establishment of two RFID issuing counters at Chichi Mata and Nonath to facilitate the pilgrims. He directed Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Tehsildars to mobilize Lambardars and Chowkidars, and to sensitize dhaba owners and petrol pump operators to report any suspicious movement to the authorities promptly.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Commandant, ACR, SDMs, Tehsildars and SDPOs, all contributing to the robust security strategy for the yatra.
