Reiterating commitment to smooth and peaceful conduct of polling on June 01, 2024, the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain and SSP Dr Sandip Garg said, here, today that no violation regarding the Model of Conduct and restriction on electioneering during 48 hours (starting from May 30, 6:00 PM) before the time fixed for the close of the poll will be spared at all.
Interacting with the media, the Deputy Commissioner said that during these 48 hours, the digital and online transactions besides online delivery partners like Swiggy, Zomato and blinkit would be kept under close vigil to thwart any attempt of inducement of Voters. Similarly, no election-related material will be allowed to display during this period using Cinematograph, Television or other similar medium in the district.
Bulk SMS and Voice Messages should also be covered under prohibition. Even print media advertisements also need certification during the period of 48 hours. Similarly, there would be a complete ban on declaring the results of opinion polls and conducting Exit polls during these hours.
Ban on loudspeakers, closure of liquor vends, public meetings and processions will started from 6:00 PM, May 30 to 6:00 PM, June 1, 2024.Outsider Supporters of the political parties and candidates who are not the voters of the constituency have to leave immediately after the campaign period comes to an end.
Deputy Commissioner while seeking support from the media to educate the voters, said that the administration has done all the arrangements in wake of hot weather conditions for maximum turnout but they should also disseminate the information about the arrangements to the voters. The political leaders should have to use limited and permitted vehicles during the period, she added.
SSP Dr Sandip Garg said that about 160 patrolling parties will remain active to maintain law and order besides Nine Companies of Para-Military. Hotels, Guest Houses and other such accommodation places would be screened minutely to check any unscrupulous or non-voter residing there. He said that the district police has a manpower of 4000 security personnel to conduct the polling in a free and fair manner.
Making an appeal to the media persons to help the district and police administration to curb the fake news, be it on social media or other media, with immediate effect, the SSP said that rumour mongers would be dealt with strictly.

ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ’ਚ 01 ਜੂਨ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਵਕ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਅਤੇ ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ ਡਾ. ਸੰਦੀਪ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਆਖਰਲੇ 48 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ (30 ਮਈ, ਸ਼ਾਮ 6:00 ਵਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਦਰਸ਼ ਚੋਣ ਜ਼ਾਬਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ’ਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਦੀ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਸਹਿਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ 48 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਮਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਕਾਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਵਿੱਗੀ, ਜ਼ੋਮੈਟੋ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਿੰਕ-ਇੱਟ ਵਰਗੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਡਿਲੀਵਰੀ ਪਾਰਟਨਰਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਡਿਜੀਟਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਲੈਣ-ਦੇਣ ’ਤੇ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਹਾਲ, ਟੈਲੀਵਿਜ਼ਨ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਮਾਧਿਅਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਚੋਣ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਬਲਕ ਐਸ ਐਮ ਐਸ ਅਤੇ ਵੌਇਸ ਸੁਨੇਹੇ ਵੀ ਮਨਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਇਸ਼ਤਿਹਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ 48 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪ੍ਰੀ-ਸਰਟੀਫ਼ਿਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਓਪੀਨੀਅਨ ਪੋਲ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਐਗਜ਼ਿਟ ਪੋਲ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ’ਤੇ ਵੀ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
ਲਾਊਡਸਪੀਕਰਾਂ ’ਤੇ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ, ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਦੇ ਠੇਕਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਰੱਖਣ, ਜਨਤਕ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਲੂਸ ਦੀ ਮਨਾਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਮ 6:00 ਵਜੇ, 30 ਮਈ, 1 ਜੂਨ, 2024 ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ 6:00 ਵਜੇ ਤੱਕ ਰਹੇਗੀ। ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸਮਰਥਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਜੋ ਹਲਕੇ ਦੇ ਵੋਟਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ, ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਬਾਅਦ ਹਲਕਾ ਛੱਡਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਤੋਂ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮਤਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਗਰਮੀ ਦੇ ਮੌਸਮ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮਤਦਾਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੀਮਤ ਅਤੇ ਮਨਜੂਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ ਡਾ. ਸੰਦੀਪ ਗਰਗ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੈਰਾ-ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ 9 ਕੰਪਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 160 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਪੈਟਰੋਲਿੰਗ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਅਮਨ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਰਾਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਰਹਿਣਗੀਆਂ। ਹੋਟਲਾਂ, ਗੈਸਟ ਹਾਊਸਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ੀ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਰੀਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉੱਥੇ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਗਲਤ ਅਨਸਰ ਜਾਂ ਗੈਰ-ਵੋਟਰ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕੋਲ 4000 ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਲਬਧਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਮੀਡੀਆ ਕਰਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਗਲਤ ਸੂਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਨ, ਐਸ ਐਸ ਪੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਫਵਾਹਾਂ ਫੈਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਪਟਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
