Jalandhar/Jandiala Manjki , 30 May 2024

Last updated on: May 30, 2024, 00:00 IST

After June 4, the 'India' coalition government will be formed in India, with the Communists supporting it from outside. This announcement was made by CPI(M) National General Secretary, Comrade Sita Ram Yechury, during a large election rally in Jandiala Manjki. The rally supported Master Parshotam Lal Bilga, the joint candidate from Jalandhar (Reserved) Lok Sabha constituency of CPI(M) and CPI.

Addressing the rally, CPI(M) Punjab State Secretary Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon and CPI Punjab State Secretary Comrade Bant Singh Brar stated that this time, four Communist candidates and nine Congress candidates, including Comrade Parshotam Lal Bilga, will reach the Lok Sabha from Punjab. They predicted that all other parties would be completely defeated.

The rally was presided over by CPI(M) senior leader Comrade Bhup Chand Channo and CPI district secretary Comrade Rashpal Kaile, with Comrade Sukhpreet Singh Johal of CPI(M) serving as the stage secretary. Thousands attended despite the scorching sun.

In his speech, Comrade Yechury criticized the BJP government under Modi for bringing the country to the brink of destruction through measures like demonetization, GST, and COVID-19 restrictions, which have impoverished millions.

He highlighted the government's actions that have divided the country on communal lines and sold public institutions to corporate houses. He warned that if the government is not ousted, they would change the constitution and destroy democracy.

Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon criticized the Punjab government for corruption, lawlessness, and political vendettas, which have disillusioned the people. He mentioned the weakening credibility of the Akali Dal due to its alliance with the BJP and asserted that Punjabis would reject such communal parties.

Comrade Sekhon also referenced past communist leaders who reached Parliament from Punjab. Comrade Bant Singh Brar spoke about the election agreement between CPI and CPI(M) in Punjab and their support for the Congress party in nine Lok Sabha seats.

He emphasized that this alliance has changed the political landscape in Punjab, making it difficult for BJP, Akali, AAP, or any other party to win a single seat. The candidate for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency, Comrade Parshotam Lal Bilga, also addressed the rally. Numerous senior leaders from both CPI and CPI(M) attended in large numbers.

Present on this occasion were Comrade Gurdarshan Singh Khaspur, Comrade Major Singh Bhikhivind, Comrade Ram Singh Noorpuri, Comrade Abdul Satar, Comrade Roop Basant Singh Baraich, Gurnek Singh Bhajjal, Comrade Swaranjit Singh, Comrade Sucha Singh Ajnala, Comrade Jatinder Pal Singh, Mool Chand Sarhali, Varinderpal Singh Kala, Prakash Kaler, Seetal Singh Sangha, Meher Singh Khurlapur, Sukhwinder Nagi, Comrade Vijay Dharni, Narinder Johal, Kulwant Singh, Harbans Lal, Raj Kumar, Balwinder Singh, Balbir Singh, Bittu Badhan, Rinku Bath, Kanwaljit Singh, Balihar Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Sulkhan Singh, and many other leaders .
