In a significant step towards promoting skill development and self-employment among the artisan community, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) of Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, has inaugurated the first batch of training sessions under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Baramulla. 

This pioneering initiative seeks to enhance the skills of local artisans and craftspeople, propelling them towards entrepreneurial success.The inauguration event saw the participation of the Chief Planning Officer of Baramulla, the Principal of ITI, and a host of eager trainees, all gathered to witness the launch of this transformative program. 

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, a central sector initiative, is designed to nurture the talents of artisans in 18 different trades, including carpentry and pottery, thereby preserving traditional crafts while promoting entrepreneurship.

Unlocking Opportunities for Artisans

During the ceremony, DDC Minga Sherpa highlighted the importance of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in providing a platform for artisans to upgrade their skills and explore self-employment avenues. He emphasized the scheme's role in economic growth and social empowerment, urging trainees to fully engage with the program to unlock their potential.

The training sessions at ITI Baramulla are tailored to meet the specific needs of each trade, offering specialized instruction to enhance the participants' skill sets and market competitiveness. Additionally, the scheme provides access to financial resources, market linkages, and infrastructure support, ensuring a smooth transition for artisans from training to self-employment.

The launch of the PM Vishwakarma training initiative marks a crucial milestone in Baramulla's commitment to skill development and economic empowerment.
