The event was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak and was attended by CEO Bandipora and other officials of Social Welfare Department, DHEW, OSC and a galaxy of children besides other participants.

Veer Bal Diwas is observed on 26th December every year to commemorate the martyrdom of the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh the tenth and last Sikh Guru. Speakers emphasized the importance of upholding righteousness and standing firm against injustice, values exemplified by the young martyrs.

The speakers including children on the occasion said that Veer Bal Diwas is annually observed on December 26. It was given out that this day honours and pays tribute to young martyrs who had sacrificed their lives for the country; they were the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh.
