The hills of Himachal Pradesh Thursday continued to get heavy spells of the rain, the weather bureau said. More rainfall is forecast till the weekend."Precipitation occurred at most places with heavy rainfall at some places in Chamba and Kangra district during the last 24 hours (since Wednesday)," a Met department statement said.It said the maximum temperature has declined by two to three degrees Celsius but there was appreciable change in the minimum temperatures since Wednesday.Dharamsala recorded 84 mm of rain, followed by Kangra 59 mm, Sujanpur Tira 56 mm, Jogindernagar 52 mm and Palampur 48 mm.Shimla saw 13 mm rain, while another tourist resort Manali recorded just four mm rain.

"A western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Jammu and Kashmir and neighbourhood, resulting in moderate to rather heavy rainfall in mid and low hills of Himachal Pradesh till July 27," said the statement.A government spokesperson said the Satluj, Beas and Yamuna rivers and their tributaries are in spate in Kinnaur, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur and Sirmaur districts.
