Taking forward the agenda of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to make the people of Punjab healthier and happier, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh on Monday said that the Punjab Government has not been leaving any stone unturned to revive India’s traditional healthcare system ‘Ayurveda’.

Notably, Ayurveda’s primary emphasis is on prevention of disease and maintenance of health, while, it also provides treatment for disease using natural ingredients. Dr Balbir Singh accompanied by Director Ayurveda Punjab Dr Ravi Doomra was here to inaugurate the 5-day long Training Programme on Ayush Health and Wellness Centres, Punjab organised at Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA) here.

The Health Minister called upon all the participants to become role models and help the state in reviving this good old ancient Indian medical system, which could help to realise the dream of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann ji to make the people of Punjab hale and healthy. He asked them to voluntarily hold yoga sessions near their homes and sensitise people about the Ayurveda.

He said that the Punjab Government has upgraded 158 Ayush Health and Wellness Centres and herbal gardens are being established at all these centres so that people can opt for natural medicines like herbs to cure themselves from mild diseases, instead of relying on allopathy medicines. Meanwhile, all the District Ayurvedic and Unani Officers, Ayurvedic Medical Officers, Upveds and Yoga Instructors from across the state participated in this workshop.
