The first batch of 43 pilgrims under Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra to proceed for Amritsar-Talwandi Sabo Religious Circuit tomorrow (Tuesday), from Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan Sohana Sahib of Mohali, said Deputy Commissioner, Mrs Aashika Jain. During a review meeting held for preparedness on Monday at District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar Mohali with the concerned officers, the deputy commissioner took stock of the arrangements done for the safe and smooth journey of the pilgrims.
She directed the health department to examine all the pilgrims’ health before boarding the bus by deputing a health team at the starting point. The Bus has been provided by the State Transport Department. She asked the Secretary of, the Regional Transport Authority, SAS Nagar to arrange a good-condition vehicle for the safe journey of the people.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the pilgrims would halt at Amritsar for tomorrow night and would start for the next destination, Talwandi Sabo, the next morning. She said that they would be provided free boarding and lodging arrangements by the State Government. She stressed upon smooth starting of the Pilgrimage from the district and asked the local SDM Chandrajyoti Singh to take care of all the arrangements in advance.
The Deputy Commissioner further added that there would be eight buses from each Sub Division/Constituency and the schedule would be decided and finalized by the State Government for the rest of the buses. She asked the local police to chalk out an uninterrupted traffic route for the departure of the bus to the National Highway tomorrow.
The officers present in the meeting included ADC (G) Viraj Shyamkarn Tidke, SP (H) Mrs Jyoti Yadav, MC Commissioner Mrs Navjot Kaur, SDM Mohali Chandrajyoti Singh, Assistant Commissioner (G) Harjot Kaur Mavi, Secretary RTA Pardeep Singh Dhillon, Dr Girish Dogra from Civil Surgeon Office and representatives from Punjab Roadways and PEPSU Transport.
