District Administration Ramban today gave a grand reception to Amrit Kalashs amid a grand Amrit Kalash Yatra, taken out from all Blocks and Municipalities to District Headquarter Ramban,  besides receiving sacred soil from all the 11-blocks and 3-MCs as part of the 2nd phase of "Meri Maati Mera Desh" (MMMD) campaign.

 A notable event was organized with enthusiastic participation of hundreds of people, including families of Martyrs, BDC,  DDC members,   Officers, Sports Persons, Eminent persons, Local Artists, Business personalities, Men, Women, Elderly, Youth, and Children.

Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan, President, Municipal Council, Ramban Sunita Sumbria, President, MC, Banihal , Prince Jehangir, Representatives of MC  Batote and other public representatives graced the function.  

Deputy Commissioner, Ramban Mussarat Islam led the Amrit Kalash Yatra  along with ADDC, Rajinder Sharma, ADC Harbans Sharma, CPO, Dr Kasturi Lal, ACR Gaias-ul-Haq, Dy. DEO Lal Chand and various other senior officers amid musical procession.   

Meanwhile, the Chairperson presided over a colourful patriotic cultural programme  organised by the Information, Education and various other departments at conference hall Maitra to showcase the district's commitment to remember and immortalize the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice for our safety, peace and harmony, adding a passionate spirit to the event.

The artists and students paid tribute through songs and performances, creating an atmosphere of pride and remembrance. All the dignitaries also paid homage to the great heroes of the district. Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson said that these pots, beautifully decorated and representing 11 blocks and   Municipal Council Ramban and Municipal Committees of Banihal and Batote, were ceremoniously brought together at Conference Hall, representing the holy soil of the motherland from District Ramban.

The holy soil of the district shall further travel to Jammu before reaching the national capital and becoming a part of Amrit Vatika in National Capital Dehli, she added.Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Amrit Kalash Yatra symbolized unity and respect for the sacrifices made by the national heroes as part of the "Maati Ko Naman Veeron Ko Vandan" campaign . 

It also aims to develop a sense of pride and honour being citizens of the great Bharat.The Deputy Commissioner, Ramban also dwelt in detail about the Amrit  Kalash Yatra, besides complimenting all officers, officials and other participants for making the event 'Kalash Yatra’ under 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' campaign a grand success.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner also administered a Panch Pran Pledge to the participants to ensure personal growth and national development.
