Punjab Minister and MLA Kharar, Anmol Gagan Mann, today, visited MC office Kurali and chaired a marathon meeting of the officials of urban local bodies to streamline the holistic development of the Kurali city.Earlier she interacted with the ambassadors of Swacchta who participated in the Swachh Bharat Mission Drawing competition and cleanliness campaign. The students of Ram Rai Public School Kurali felicitated for participating in the activity 'waste to use' while IPS Public School presented the honour for taking part in activity 'Plastic Drive'.
Similarly, Harkishan Public School Students got the prize for painting activity.Similarly, DAV Model Senior Secondary School students were also felicitated for taking part in the cleanliness drive. Sanitation workers Pappu of the MC Kurali were awarded as the best performing employee.Discussing the development projects and problems of the city with MC officials, the Minister directed them to work in mission mode to facilitate the residents with all the civic amenities.She said that for the overall development of Kurali tenders of works worth Rs 4 Crore have been floated while works worth Rs 14 Crore are on cards for moving further towards the tendering process.
Emphasising on maintaining quality of works, the Minister asked the MC staff to monitor the progress of works as well by testing samples.She directed the MC officials to take strict actions for recovery of EDCs from the illegal colonisers and no one should be spared at any cost. She said that the Punjab Government led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann is leaving no stone unturned for the development of urban and rural areas. MC officials Said that about 60 such colonies have been identified to be served with notices.
The Minister aske the civic body for plantation to enhance green cover in the city thereby beautify the roads.She said that she would take weekly review of the progress by visiting next week. She asked the MC officials to expedite the sanitation work in the interiors of the city too.Minister Anmol Gagan Mann directed the MC officials to keep tab on the public problems such as water supply, Street lights and sanitation issues and no body should feel ignored in facilitation of basic needs.EO Parminder Singh Bhatti and other engineering staff of the Nagar Council was present in the meeting.
