A team from Fire and Emergency Services Sub Command City Jammu, under the supervision of Divisional Fire Officer, organised a training cum demo at Sub District Hospital Jagtti. The expert team, headed by Kiran ji Raina Sub Officer I/c FES City, imparted the training and conducted the demo. 

The team members delivered lectures and gave a comprehensive presentation about the fire safety measures to be adopted in hospitals and in case any unfortunate event of a fire incident takes place within the hospital premises.

A live demonstration of proper usage of fire extinguishers in case of fire emergency was meticulously displayed. All the staff members and general public participated in the drill with great care and interest and learned the proper usage of Fire Extinguishers.

The staff members appreciated the efforts of the Fire Services Department headed by ADGP Alok Kumar, Director Fire and Emergency Services J&K who took keen interest in making the awareness campaign regarding Fire safety, a regular exercise.

Demo was organised by Medical Superintendent Dr Sanjay Raina SDH Jagti in collaboration with Deputy Director F&ES Command Jammu. At the end, Dr Raina presented a special vote of thanks to the team of the Fire Services Department for organising this drill at the hospital.

Meanwhile another awareness program was held at Hee-Maa Public school Dhammi Jagtti Nagrota wherein nearly 400 students participated in the fire safety awareness program. The School Principal Roshan Lal thanked the Fire and Emergency Services Department for taking this initiative. He also thanked the team for conducting this awareness program to educate children about Fire safety.

It may be recalled that Director Fire and Emergency Services J&K Alok Kumar-IPS has initiated an awareness campaign regarding fire safety and Wednesday has been dedicated to organize awareness programmes in schools. Till date nearly 1.35 lac students excluding teaching staff have witnessed these fire safety awareness programmes. 

The motive behind this awareness campaign is to create fire responders in each home.Har Ghar Firefighter is the main motive behind this campaign launched by Alok Kumar, Director FES. This awareness drive has been witnessing grand success and the number of Fire incidents and loss percentage has shown a decrease. 

The awareness drive has attracted other Govt and business establishments of Jammu and Kashmir UT and they are approaching the department for conducting such programs at their respective establishments for Fire Safety.
