Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri said that the young generation of new appointees will shape the New India of 2047.Mr. Puri was addressing the new appointees in the various departments of the Government of India whom he handed over appointment letters during the 9th tranche of the Rozgar Mela held at DAV College premises. 

A total of 285 new candidates, mostly appointed in Indian Postal Department were given the appointment letters. The minister himself handed over to 25 and others were given by the dignitaries present. The live telecast of the Prime Minister handing over appointment letters to 51,000 new appointees was also shown at the venue. 

The Mela was organised by the Punjab Circle of the Indian Postal Department. Post Master General, Chandigarh Circle, Smt. Manisha Bansal, Senior Superintendent of Posts, Hoshiarpur Sh. Charanjit Singh and Assistant Director, Postal Department, Chandigarh Sh. Kailash Sharma were also present along with other officials of the department.

Congratulating the new appointees, he said the Nation is already in 2023 and passing through Amrit Kal to become a developed nation by 2047. He said in the next over 20 years India would be the second largest economy in the world and these new appointees would make this happen with their contribution in the development of the Country.

Speaking on women empowerment he said it helps making a nation progress faster. He said which ever country has women reservation, that country's GDP increases many fold because of the efforts of their womenfolk.

The minister said that out of the various  schemes of the central government, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is the most important yojna meant not only for the cleanliness but for better health conditions also. He said it has become a Jan Andolan and is the largest sanitation exercise undertaken in any country anywhere in the world. 

He also delved upon the achievements of various other programs of the central government meant for the development of the general public including Ujjawala Yojna, PM Awas Yojna, construction of toilets under SBM etc. He said most of these are women centred schemes which was the vision of the Prime Minister to help women progress for a better and healthy society.

He said at present the government is investing over Rs. 90,000 crore in entrepreneurship, sports, education etc. and the beneficiary is our younger generation. He said he is sure that the younger generation would not only take benefit but would also help in the development of the country. 

Amongst other dignitaries who were present on the occasion include BJP distt Hoshiarpur Core Committee Members Sh.Avinash rai Khanna, (Prabhari- Himachal Prdesh-Ex MP), Sh.Vijay Sampla, (EX Chairman National SC Commission), (Sh.Tikshan Sood (Ex Minister-Punjab), Bibi Mohinder Kaur Josh, (Ex Minister-Punjab), Smt.Meenu Sethi, State Secretary-BJP, Sh. Jangi Lal Mahajan MLA Mukeriyan, Dr.Dilbag Rai, Vidhansabha incharge Chabbewal, Sh.Nipun Sharma (Distt President-BJP), Sh.Bindusar Shukla (Distt Genral Secretary), Sh.Jatinder Saini (Distt Genral Secretary), Sh.jasvir Singh (Distt Genral Secretary), Sh.Suresh Bhatia (Distt Genral Secretary), Sh.Shiv Sood (Ex Mayor), Sh.Vijay Pathania.
