Government College of Education, Jammu organized an enlightening, magnetic and informative Poetry Competition to commemorate “Hindi Diwas.” The objective of the program was to mark the need, uses, importance and virtue of our Matra Bhasha Hindi. Since promotion of national language is important for the promotion of national integration the program highlighted the need of Hindi language. 

The staff and students participated with great fervor and enthusiasm.Prof. Aekta Gupta, Principal of GCOE, who very precisely and deeply made everyone aware about the importance of Hindi Language and its widespread coverage in our daily life ranging from Indian films to television and day to day life She asserted that Hindi is the most widespread used and loved language by the masses.

She further explained that Hindi language is widespread not only in India but also in other countries.Prof. Satish K Sharma HOD Hindi welcomed the gathering and   explained the journey and origin of the Hindi Language and its usages since  in the  Vedic and Sanskrit Era. He also stressed upon the importance and pride of the HINDI LANGUAGE.

Prof. Seema Kotwal, Dr.Taahira Shah and Prof. Shalini Rana judged the competition. Ms. Geetika Kohli was also present on the occasion. The program was attended by Prof. Anju Bala, Dr. Rajinder Kour Prof. Anuradha Choudhary, Dr. Sushma Bala, Prof. Vinay Lata, Prof. Neeraj Verma,  Vikram Singh Jamwal, Daljeet  Singh and  Ms. Karuna Balotra among others.

The Programme was organized by Prof. Seema Kumari, Prof. Sarita Dogra and Arushi Sharma. The competition was indeed creative, informative and full of enlightenment and brought before the audience certain unknown facts about Hindi language and boosted the morale of all to work for the encouragement and spread of Hindi Language and Culture and take it to great heights. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof.Seema Kumari.
