In observance of the ongoing Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K Week, Saloni Rai, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Udhampur took the helm during an awareness program hosted by Government College for  Women  Udhampur in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare on the College Campus, today.

The event garnered participation from  Kanika Gupta, District Social Welfare Officer, all faculty members of the college, the staff of One Stop Centre, District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Vatsalya, as well as the enthusiastic NSS Cadets and NSS Volunteers of the College.

In her address, the DC emphasized the significance of promoting the Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K campaign. She highlighted that the district is conducting a series of community-based awareness programs to educate children, government officials, and citizens about the adverse effects of corruption and strategies to combat it.

Furthermore, the DC reiterated the District Administration's commitment to transitioning all government offices to the online mode. This shift towards online services has promoted transparency, accountability, and accessibility of government services to citizens. It also ensures timely service delivery and grievance redressal, she added.

Saloni Rai lauded the dedication of GCW Udhampur's staff and the Department of Social Welfare for the successful execution of the event.Earlier, the welcome address was presented by Principal of GCW Udhampur, Prof. Anjali Mahajan. 

She said that this noble goal aims to eradicate corruption and promote transparency, accountability and ethical conduct within the government and society in the Jammu and Kashmir region. Achieving this goal will contribute to better governance and improved public services for the people of Jammu and Kashmir", she added

As part of the program, a poster-making competition and a seminar competition centered around the theme, "Role of Youth in Bhrashtachar Mukht Bharat Viksit Bharat - A Corruption-Free India" was organised  for the students.  The winners were honored by the chief guest.

NSS Volunteers of the College also presented a Nukkad Natak on the theme "Corruption-Free Nation."  The program's proceedings and the vote of thanks were delivered by Dr. Kamal Deep Kaur, Assistant Professor.
