National Conference (NC) Block Zadibal and Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu on Saturday installed stalls for the mourners on the eve of Ashoora at Zadibal here in Srinagar where a huge procession was carried out by Shia Muslims to remember the sacrifices of Karbala martyrs.
According to the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), NC leaders and Srinagar Mayor had installed two separate stalls at the main chowk Zadibal here where mourners were seen getting the water and other refreshments throughout the day.
Talking to the reporters, Mattu said that he has been installing the stalls every year and this year too, he has installed it at Zadibal.“We will install the stall in Bemina and Shalimar also in the next coming days as well,” he said.
About the 8th Muharram procession allowed by the government after three decades, he said that he wants to congratulate the people especially for making the procession peaceful. “I am thankful to the administration also for allowing the procession,” he said.
“I am hopeful that the main processions through the traditional routes will be allowed in the next year,” he said.National Conference (NC) spokesperson, Tanveer Sadiq, said that the stall was installed today to remember the Karbala martyrs.
“The Hussainiat will always be there, it is the time to walk on the footprints of Imam Hussain (AS) to achieve the goal,” he said.On the occasion, Deputy Mayor Srinagar, Parvaiz Ahmad Qadri was also seen at the stall and providing the refreshments among the mourners—(KNO)
