The three day long Capacity building training on early detection of drug users and vulnerable persons and role of frontline workers under National action plan for Drug Demand Reduction concluded here today at Udhampur.
On concluding day, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joginder Singh Jasrotia was the chief guest, while District Social Welfare Officer, Kanika Gupta presided over the programme.
Addressing the participants which included PRIs, ULBs, Paralegal personals and representatives from police department, the chief guest lauded the tireless efforts made by the Social Welfare Department for organising this training programme.
He added that drug addiction has the capacity of devastating the future of our young generation. “We have to jointly share the responsibility by keeping vigil on our wards and their close ones to prevent them from getting into this menace” he noted.
Earlier, resource persons Nikhil Gupta, Psychiatrist, Rudrakshi Raina drug counsellor, Devika, drug counsellor educated the audience about early detection of drug abuse and its prevention, treatment and counselling.
