Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Harbans Lal Sharma today chaired a meeting of officers and representatives of Shia Federation here to review arrangements put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram starting from 19th July.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kamal Zadu, Executive Engineer JPDCL, Jal Shakti, CEO MC Ramban, Tehsildar, Dy.SP traffic, Dy. SP Hqtr. and other concerned officers attended the meeting.The meeting discussed demands projected by the representatives of Shia associations for the smooth conduct of Muharram.
The meeting discussed arrangements for power supply, water supply, renovation of roads, provision of ration, firewood, sanitation, street lighting and medicare facilities.The ADC instructed Jal Shakti and JPDCL to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, while the health department was asked to ensure availability of healthcare facilities at places of congregations.
He asked the concerned departments to ensure that the arrangements pertaining to their departments are put in place well in time.Municipal authorities were instructed to ensure cleanliness in and around Imambargah Chanderkote. The Police and Traffic department was also asked to provide fool proof security and traffic arrangements during the Muharram days.
