Castigating Indian government for maintaining ‘creepy’ silence over ongoing Israeli air strikes on civilian population in Palestine, senior Congress leader and former diplomat Mani Shankar Aiyar Saturday said that the land of Mahatma (Gandhi) which propagated peace is saddened today because the Narendra Modi led BJP government didn’t bother to utter a word to condemn the Israeli aggression in Palestine.“Modi government has started showing its colours. It is apathy and heartbreaking that not a single word was used by this government to express solidarity with the Palestine people. The sinister silence of Indian government on this sensitive issue has shown the intent of Modi and his cronies,” Aiyar told Srinagar based news agency CNS adding that India is relinquishing the principles of Mahatma Gandhi thick and fast.
Aiyar accused Modi government of ignoring Kashmir while presenting Union Budget of current year. “The intentions of Modi led government about Kashmir are getting clear day by day. It is injustice towards Kashmir that like Jammu it was not sanctioned an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). There should be development on equal basis but the Modi led government is trying to imbalance the things for its petty gains,” he told CNS adding that Modi will always ignore Kashmir. (CNS)
