Stressing that the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir which consists of five regions of Kashmir, Jammu , Ladakh, Azad Kashmir and northern areas and covers an area 84 thousand sq. miles should be solved by either implementing the pending UN resolutions or through tripartite dialogue, Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday stressed upon the UN to play active role in solving the vexed dispute for once and all.In his maiden Friday address during Ramzaan at historic Jamia masjid, Mirwaiz stated that India was making pretexts to change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir on international level by sometimes terming the UN resolutions on Kashmir as ineffective or by questioning the very presence of UN office.
Mirwaiz stated that by asking UMOIGP office at New Delhi to shift its office, India was contradicting the ground and historical realities. He stated that if UN has issues with funds to run its office in Delhi, Kashmiris were benevolent enough to donate the money so as to compensate that problem.Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of 1931, APHC Chairman said those valor souls raised against the sufferings of Kashmiris at the hands of despotic and monarchial rule, adding, they fought for the rights of people and laid their lives for the cause started by Mahajr-e-Millat Moulana Yousuf Shah.
In connection with the July 13 martyrdom anniversary, Mirwaiz stated that hurriyat has chalked out programmes to pay tributes to martyrs. He stated that on July 12 a seminar would be organized to commemorate the martyrs while on July 13, 2014, hurriyat leaders would lead the rallies from different corners of Kashmir and would converge at historic Jamia Masjid, adding, from there a huge rally would be taken out which would culminate at Naqashbandh Sahab where collective Fath-e-Khwani and tributes would be offered to martyrs.
Later, while convening the meeting of Awami Action Committee, Mirwaiz stressed upon the participants to make the July 13programmes, Youm-e-Badar on 17th Ramzaan, and the 47th death anniversary of Majajr-e-Millat moulvi Yousaf Shah a grand success.Earlier in his Friday sermon Mirwaiz Condemned the Isreal Army action in the holy month of Ramazan on the unarmed civilian population of Gaza and prayed for the safety and well being of the people of Palestine. Meanwhile, several hurriyat leaders including Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, GN War, and Ghulam Al Waseem addressed public gatherings in various parts of Kashmir. (KNS)
