As the political cauldron of Kashmir seems boiling ahead of the forthcoming assembly polls, the non Congress, NC and PDP parties have started putting heads together to offer a new political alternative to the people.Sources have informed KNS that several mainstream political parties of the state have decided to forge an alliance so that the same could become a decisive factor in the government formation of the state after upcoming assembly elections.

Reports maintained that the cabinet minister and DPN chief Ghulam Hassan Mir is being continuously approached by several senior political voices to join hands with them. Sources informed that hectic deliberations are also being held between Hakeem Mohammad Yasin, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Abdul Rashid Kabuli, Er Abdul Rashid for creation of the joint platform that would contest elections against major political forces in the state.“If we succeed, this will be a biggest and the strongest political force of the state that can influence the government formation in the state. It is undoubtedly going to be a unique force,” said a senior political leader wishing not to be named. The PDF chief Hakeem Mohammad Yasin when contacted told KNS that since people are fed-up with the prevailing traditional political system and they are yearning for a change. Hakeem said that he along with some other political veterans are in constant touch with some political figures in order to form a political platform that could emerge as an alternative to represent the voices of dissent. He added that Ghulam Hassan Mir, minister for Agriculture has a close proximity with the emerging political platform and various other sitting MLAs are in constant touch.

Meanwhile, sources have disclosed to KNS that few mainstream political parties that are yet to make a debut presence in state legislative assembly have also approached this emerging political substitute. Efforts are also on to get some sitting legislators into the fold of this emerging political force so that to make it more presentable.Er Abdul Rashid, MLA Langate and head of Awami Itihad Party (AIP) confirmed about these meetings saying that he will always be ready to be a part of an alliance which can get people rid of a ‘corrupt political system’. “For the welfare of people and in order to safeguard the public interests, I will not hesitate to join any such forum which can offer a more credible, transparent and accountable alternative to the people,” he added.  (KNS)
