Principal Secretary, Jal Shakti, Shaleen Kabra, today visited Reasi and held a review meeting with officers of various departments to assess status of ongoing development works besides taking stock of implementation of other schemes in the district.
District Development Commissioner, Babila Rakwal, gave a Powerpoint Presentation on various schemes being implemented by different departments in the district.While chairing the meeting, Principal Secretary took stock of tendering, allotment and starting of works under different components.
He took a detailed review of achievements of RDD, Horticulture, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Labour Department, Employment department, Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments. He asked the district and frontline officers of to work in tandem to identify and quantify the sector specific needs and potential of the district based on natural and human resources.
He also enquired about the progress on execution of works and finalization of contracts under Jal Jeevan Mission. He reviewed and discussed the status of tendering and allotment of civil works besides assessing progress achieved in respect of procurement of pipes under the Mission.
He said that JJM works should be completed by the end of September in snow bound areas.Principal Secretary impressed upon the concerned officers to gear up their efforts and ensure deadlines are met in each component.
He also impressed upon the officers to maintain highest level of transparency and accountability in implementation process and meet the timelines targeted for completion of development projects.Shaleen Kabra emphasized on streamlining of online revenue services to make the system more transparent and accountable.
He stressed upon timely delivery of services like fard intikhab, revenue record, certificates and change of land use. He impressed upon the officers for timely completion of digitisation of cadastral maps and disposal of pending court cases. He also stressed upon the officers to conduct regular tours and ensure proper upkeep of the records.
Principal Secretary said that expenditure under MGNREGA has increased considerably since the last review meeting and the department should continue to improve its performance in future as well. He stressed upon the departments to coordinate with RDD in execution of works in convergence with MGNREGA.
Later, Principal Secretary chaired a meeting to review progress on implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) besides assessing status of major projects of Jal Shakti Department (JSD) in Reasi and Udhampur districts.
During the meeting, Principal Secretary had detailed assessment of physical and financial achievements. He also reviewed the status of ongoing JJM works and the infrastructure proposed under the scheme, progress on ongoing works at major projects of Jal Shakti Department.
Addressing the officers, Shaleen Kabra emphasized on the importance of timely completion of these projects, which will not only benefit the people of Reasi district, but also contribute significantly towards development of the region.
He asked the Executive Engineers to visit work sites once in a month. He directed the concerned officials to expedite the implementation of this mission and ensure that the benefits reach the targeted beneficiaries.
