It was another red letter day for the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute on 10 Jun 2023, when 10 cadets of the Institute were commissioned into the Indian Army at the Indian Military Academy, Passing out Parade at Dehradun.
The parade was reviewed by General Manoj Pande, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC, Chief of Army Staff. The Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI set up by the Punjab Government has been constantly producing officers for the defence services for the last 11 years.
With a success rate of over 52% the Institute is the most successful of its kind in the country. With the 10 commissioned on Saturday, the Institute has 136 of its alumni commissioned as officers in the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces.
Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM; Director of Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI, who was present to witness his cadets becoming officers, congratulated them and called upon them to be true to their calling. He exhorted them to be good sons of Punjab and to do the Nation proud.
