Education Minister Takes Cognizance Of Media Reports Of Mid Day Meal

Seeks Report From Circle Education Officer, Jalandhar Before July 15

The Education Minister today taking cognizance of reports published in a section of media regarding substandard food in mid-day meal being served at Government Elementary School, Kot Ram Dass in Jalandhar asked Circle Education Officer to submit a detailed report on the issue before July 15.In a statement issued here Mr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister said that the negligence in serving food under mid-day meal scheme will not be tolerated at any cost. He said that there would also be no compromise with quality of food under the scheme. He said they were committed to get quality food served in government schools.Cheema said that he has been directed Circle Education Officer to personally look into the matter and submit a detailed report before July 15. He said that necessary action would definitely be taken against erring staff, if found guilty.
