To promote awareness and understanding of Food Safety, Food Safety department Anantnag today organized a function to celebrate ‘World Food Safety Day-2023’ at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Anantnag and Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Bijbehara on the theme ‘Food Standards Save Lives’.

During the program, the attention of students was drawn towards the importance of Food standards as a way of ensuring safety and quality of food and ways to prevent, detect and manage food borne risks.

The event was celebrated with a variety of activities including painting competitions, display of good hygienic practices and seminars.Later, the students participated in the rally organized by the department to promote awareness among masses regarding safe and healthy food choices.

Services of Mobile Food Testing Van were also utilized during the programme to provide general awareness among the participants regarding detection of common adulterants in food by rapid food testing methods.At the conclusion of the programme students were felicitated with appreciation certificates for their participation.
