The World Bicycle Day 2023 was celebrated today at District Headquarters and in all Medical Blocks of the Doda District by organizing bicycle rallies.The event was organized by District Health Society Doda under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme and on the directions of Mission Director NHM J&K Ayushi Sudan and the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Dr Hamid Zrgar.
At District Hqr Doda, a cycle rally was organized by the health department in collaboration with the District Youth Services & Sports Department. Students drawn from different schools participated in the cyclothon. Similar events were also held in other medical blocks in the District to mark the celebration of the day.
At Block Ghat, students of Government Higher Secondary School participated in the event.The day was celebrated with the aim to sensitize people about the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle to keep away diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular and stroke.
The CMO, while giving details about the day, said that cycle events and awareness programmes were organized in the district to promote and inculcate a healthy lifestyle among the people, which is imperative for avoiding Non Communicable Diseases and staying physically active.
