As the Bharatiya Janata Party celebrates 9 years of the Modi government across the country, the Punjab BJP also kicked off its 'Vikas Tirath' campaign with BJP state Vice President Jai Inder Kaur and UP Member of legislative council & former minister Dr. Mahendra Singh visiting the Patiala's 24*7 Canal Based water project.

Addressing the media after tacking stock of the progress of the water project Jai Inder said, "The 24*7 Canal based water project was a big demand of people of the area and it was started by the Captain Amarinder Singh led government in 2020 at a total cost of Rs 565 crore. 

Playing a vital part, the central government also released Rs 144 crore for this project under the AMRUT scheme which aims to provide basic civic amenities to the urban areas to improve the quality of life. It is the first of it's kind focused national water Mission, which was launched in 500 cities and has covered over 60% of the urban population."

Talking further about this project the BJP state VP said, "The capacity of this water plant is 11MLT per day and it will benefit over 90 thousand households, fulfilling water requirements of around 4.80 lakh people of Patiala. Providing 24×7 clean drinking water to every household of Patiala is our priority and I'm happy to share that this project will be completed by October 2023."

She further informed that, "13 overhead tanks have been repaired in the city and 12 new overhead tanks have been constructed with the approximate capacity of 4 lakh gallons and additionally 312km water distribution line is being laid in the city."

BJP UP MLC and former minister Dr. Mahendra Singh said, "The Bharatiya Janata Party government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi ji has consistently worked for the welfare of each and every citizen of the country. In the last 9 years PM Modi brought many public welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojna, Ayushman Yojna, Pardhan mantri Awas yojna and countless others. 

Modi ji hasn't taken a single off day since he took oath as the PM of our great country and we all are blessed to have such a hardworking leader at the helm of the affairs.

They were accompanied by BJP leaders Bikramjeet Cheema, Parminder Brar, Jasmine Sandhawalia, KK Malhotra, ex mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, Harmesh Goyal, Surjit Singh Garhi, Vijay Kumar Kuka, Nikhil Kumar Kaka among others.
