To give impetus to the Measles-Rubella elimination campaign in the district, a meeting of the District Task Force (DTF) was held today in the DC Office here under the Chairpersonship of the Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal.

The DDC said that despite all efforts more positive cases are emerging in District Reasi. Detailed discussion was held on the control measures including Routine Immunization. He reminded the stakeholder departments that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Govt of India has set December 2023 as the deadline for Measles Rubella elimination.  

The DDC directed the concerned officials to remain vigilant and ensure NMNR (Non-Measles Non-Rubella) rate in accordance with the MR elimination protocol. Directions were also given to all blocks to conduct the headcount survey of 0-5 years children of affected areas with active search for any suspected cases of fever and rash, if found isolate the cases to contain the spread.

The DDC said that Reasi district has adequate healthcare infrastructure to manage the universal immunization programme and surveillance activities to achieve the target. The DC urged upon the Health functionaries of the district to take all possible measures and give focused attention towards the Measles, Rubella elimination in the District.

DDC said schools and other community centres shall be scrutinized thoroughly for fever & rash along with sensitization of community members. Give 1 additional dose of MR vaccine to children between 9 months to 5 years of age with 2 doses of Vitamin A within 24 hours interval. 

DDC stressed upon all the stakeholders to concentrate in High-Risk areas so that no child is left out/dropout in the age group of 9 months to 5 years of age and to establish Toll Free Number for all Blocks to be displayed to Public and constitute ERT (Epidemic Response Team).

Chief Medical Officer Reasi, Dr Ravinder Singh Manhas, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Reasi, Dr Rajinder Kumar, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Reasi, Dr M Y Khan, District Immunization Officer Reasi, Block Medical Officer Mahore, Block Medical Officer Pouni, District ASHA Coordinator Reasi, representatives of Education Department, Social Welfare/ICDS department and BMO Reasi and staff of CMO/DyCMO Office Reasi were present in the meeting.
