Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik on Thursday directed the officers to highlight the Punjab government’s welfare schemes and flagship programmes through Khabran Ludhianavi so that maximum people avail benefit. Presiding over a meeting in Bachat Bhawan, the Deputy Commissioner said that this newsletter was launched by administration on May 6 to disseminate the information about the government's policies and schemes directly to the people of Ludhiana.

Malik asked the officers of several departments to send the information about schemes and their achievements regularly to the concerned so that it can play a vital tool to reach masses. The information including  camps, meetings, functions and others must also be intimated well before the time so that people can also avail the opportunity to reach there. 

She said that sometimes people who fulfil criteria under a government scheme are not aware of the ways to get it and the newsletter will also help them to enrol themselves for the scheme. She also said that citizens would have the opportunity to provide constructive suggestions to the administration through the newsletter by emailing on [email protected].

Prominent among the present on the occasion included District Planning Board Chairman Sharanpal Singh Makkar, ADCs Sandeep Kumar, Major Amit Sareen and others.
