MP Sanjeev Arora completes 2-day spiritual journey to Amritsar and Pakistan

After completing his two-day spiritual journey to Amritsar and Pakistan, AAP MP (Rajya Sabha) from Ludhiana Sanjeev Arora has returned here with rich experiences and memories. He also visited the Attari-Wagah Border in Amritsar during this journey.

On his return here, Arora said in view of `Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (75th Anniversary of Indian Independence), he firstly visited to the Attari-Wagah Border in Amritsar district. It was Arora’s maiden visit to this place.He visited Customs Gallery at Attari where he was felicitated by the BSF authorities. Then, he visited the Attari-Wagah Joint Check Post (JCP). He also witnessed Beating the Retreat ceremony and interacted with BSF jawans.

Arora said it was a proud moment for him to meet the Armed Forces deployed along the International Border because these forces keep strict vigil and guard the International Border round the clock. He acknowledged the dedicated and sincere patriotic services being rendered by BSF jawans at the Attari-Wagah Border.

He recalled that it was a great moment to visit the International Border because it is of historical significance. He added the Attari-Wagah Border is the only road border crossing between the two countries. 

This International Border was established in 1959, which serves as the primary transit point for travelers and trade between the two nations. Arora also visited Golden Temple (Sri Harimandir Sahib) at Amritsar where he along with his family & friends paid obeisance. 

He said he felt extreme peace after visiting this sacred place which is the most important pilgrimage and is considered one of the holiest places. He prayed for prosperity of people of the state and also for peace and communal harmony in Punjab.

Further, Arora said it was a great moment for him when he entered the premises of the gurdwara complex at Kartarpur Sahib in the Narowal district of Punjab in Pakistan. “It was my long-pending wish to visit this sacred place which holds great importance in history as it was here that Guru Nanak Dev, spent the last years of his life. 

The gurdwara is situated on the banks of the Ravi River, about 4 kilometers from the India-Pakistan border.  Arora said he prayed for the whole humanity at the gurdwara complex at Kartarpur Sahib, adding that he also prayed for normalcy, peace and cordial relations between the two Nations. He also took langar (community lunch) there.

Arora was accompanied by around 30 family members & friends including wife Sandhya Arora, extended family, Industrialist friends Kamal Oswal, Gagan Khanna, Dinesh Oswal, Sanjiv Garg, Neeraj & Rajesh Agarwal along with their families. Also, Abilash Oswal accompanied with her daughters Ruchika and Monica. Nature artist and eminent author Harpreet Sandhu and journalist Ashwani Joshi were also among those who accompanied.
