Abu Dhabi Housing Authority launches AED7bn+ housing projects in West Baniyas and Al Samha

Contracts for the design and implementation of the projects were signed between ADHA and Q Holding

Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has announced new housing projects in West Baniyas and Al Samharegions, totaling 1,742 residential villas for citizens at a cost of more than AED7billion.

The West Baniyas residential project includes the construction of 1,500 residential villas and the implementation of infrastructure works, gardens, public facilities and services,in addition to the   construction of eight mosques and 14 commercial buildings. 

The project is being built on a land area of 584.7 hectares, at a total cost of more than AED6.3billion.It is expected to be completed byQ2 2027.AlSamha project consists of 242 residential villas, in addition to the implementation of various infrastructure works, along with the construction of two mosques and a selection of retail units. 

The project is being built on a land area of 53.4 hectares, at a total cost of more than AED734million, and is expected to be completed byQ4 2025.To develop these projects, Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has signed two agreements with Q Holding PJSC, according to the terms the company will design and implement both projects for the benefit of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority. 

His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: “The signing of the contracts for the development of West Baniyas and Al Samha housing projects comes to implementthe vision of our leadership to ensure stability and social wellbeing for citizens, through the development of integrated and sustainable housing communities that meet the needs of Citizens and theirfamilies.”

Al Shorafa stressed the authority's keenness to develop and build effective partnerships with both government and private sectors to develop innovative solutions that meet social priorities in the housing sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

During the signing ceremony, His Excellency Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, DirectorGeneral of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said that providing adequate housing according to the highest technical specifications and that considers the requirements of the emirati familyis at the forefront of the authority's strategic priorities, which are implemented according to the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership. 

He added that the signing of the agreements with Q Holding reflects the authority's continuous interest in strengthening its relations with all major partners, led by the private sector, which plays an important role in developing the housing sector in the country.

His Excellencysaid: "The signing of the contracts for West Baniyas and Al Samha projects comes in response to population and economic growth in the two regions, which reflects the comprehensive urban renaissance witnessed by the emirate of Abu Dhabi in general, and contributes to the continuation of the authority's efforts to provide pioneering housing options and solutions, and their implementation falls within the framework of the Emirati Neighborhood Projects initiative, the model of which is  pioneering integrated residential communities.”

Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed,Chairman of the Board of Directors of Q Holding, said: “We are extremely proud of this strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, through which will provide new and innovative products for the housing sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. 

Through this agreement, the development of West Baniyas and Al Samha areas will result in our building vibrant residential communities that achieve the desired societal aspirations. “Our partnership with Abu Dhabi Housing Authority will also contribute to the optimal use of the company's expertise in the field of real estate development to support the authority's efforts in developing the housing system in the emirate of Abu Dhabi,demonstrated bythe sustainability of these projects.”

The announcement of the two new projects follows Abu Dhabi Housing Authority announcing the completion of the expansion of AlFalah residential project through the addition of 899 residential villas to the original first and second phases of the project, during which 4,857 new residential properties were handed over to citizens in 2012, bringingthe total number of residential villas in the region to 5,756.
