State BJP chief Kamal Sharma today welcomed the appointment of Sh Amit Shah as the new national president of BJP.In a statement issued from party office in Chandigarh, Sharma said that party would touch new heights in the leadership of Shah who has proved his mettle in the recently held Lok Sabha polls, where he was the incharge for Uttar Pradesh and the party won 71 seats out of 80 defying all odds.The BJP state stated that Shah who started his carrier as the ordinary workers of the party and also remained Home Minister in Gujarat Government would take all along in the party and scrip new history by winning upcoming assembly polls of few states.
Sharma also praised Sh Rajnath Singh’s tenure as the party president and termed his tenure as the most successful tenure when BJP formed its government of its own at the Centre. “As party president Sh Rajnath Singh’s tenure would always be rated as the best as it was in this tenure BJP bagged seats from remotest areas of the country where the party does not have full organisational strength. Party’s wings have spread across the nation in the leadership of Sh Rajnath Singh,” he said.In party headquarters here BJP workers celebrated the appointment of new party president by distribution of sweets.
