Daljeet Singh Cheema, Spokesperson and Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal today accused Bhupinder Singh Hooda led Congress regime in Haryana for announcing separate committee for Sikh affairs, describing it an exercise to create a split in Sikh community for political gimmick. Calling it very unfortunate step initiated by Hooda Government, Mr. Cheema said it was the result of hands in glove of Haryana and Punjab Congress, which again peel-off the simmering wounds of Sikhs after 1984 Sikh pogrom. He said this was the third attempt by congress party to pide Sikh community by proposed bifurcation in SGPC. He said this was the third big attack on Sikhs since Congress initiated Army Attack on high temporal seat of Sikhs Sri Akal Takht Sahib followed by Sikh pogrom in 1984. Mr. Cheema said it was the sole political move of Congress Party, in which they would never succeeded and the political death of Hooda governmt is inevitable in upcoming elections.
Dr. Cheema said Mr. Hooda was the main architect of this whole drama, which he scripted on the directions of Gandhi Family hurting sentiments of crores of Sikhs settled across the globe. He said the involvement of ‘so called Sikh representatives’ including Captain Amarinder Singh, Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa and Parmjit Singh Sarna have played a vital role to add fuel to the fire. He said this act of these representatives confirmed that these ‘traitors of community’ backstabbed the Sikh community for which the Sikhs would never spare them.
Criticising the presence of Congress leaders from Punjab on dais with Mr. Hooda, Dr. Cheema said they were directed by Mrs. Sonia Gandhi to participate in this anti-Sikh community conclave. He said Congress was conspiring against Sikhs from its inception and this recent act of it has also again exposed its anti-Sikh face. He said Congress had humiliated Sikhs in 1982 during Asian Games after that this was the ‘politically motivated move of congress’ in view of upcoming elections. Dr. Cheema also said categorically that SGPC will not become a mute spectator and it will act according to situation keeping in view all legal channels to maintain the dignity and sacredness of Premium religious organization of Sikhs.
