Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, organised a Krishi Mela Cum Exhibition at Panchari under the submission on Agriculture Extension (ATMA). The aim was to make farmers, Self Help Groups (SHGS), and entrepreneurs aware of the Holistic Agriculture Development Plan as envisioned by the Prime Minister and the UT government. More than 300 farmers attended the event.

Chairman District Development Council Udhampur, Lal Chand was the chief guest and praised the department for implementing farmers’ welfare schemes. He was accompanied by Chairman Block Development Council, Jeevan Sharma; Member District Development Council, Jasvir Singh and PRIs members.

Representatives of allied departments installed stalls displaying their activities and mission for the farming community. Chief Agriculture Officer, Sanjay Anand, presented a welcome and keynote address highlighting schemes to empower the farming community. Incharge AEO Mansar, Dr Satvir Singh Sudan conducted proceedings of the Mela. Vegetable seeds and spray pumps were distributed among farmers.
