Tribal Samaj Sudhar Committee Kishtwar met with Deputy Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav to discuss the education of Scheduled Tribes in remote areas of the district. After hearing their concerns and suggestions, Dr Yadav assured the committee that their demands would be addressed in a timely manner.

In response to concerns about teacher punctuality and the implementation of the PM Poshan (MDM) in schools in ST areas, Dr Yadav directed CEO Sudarshan Kumar Sharma to strengthen Parent-Teacher Meetings and School Management Committees by involving tribal group members.

Dr Yadav also informed the committee about the “Back to School” initiative for out-of-school children and urged them to play a pivotal role in motivating STs to ensure their children continue their education.

A number of decisions were taken during the meeting, including ensuring mobile teachers and necessary logistics for students in dhoks.Deputy Commissioner added that the UT government is committed to uplifting STs and has launched several welfare initiatives and educational schemes for their benefit.

Dr Yadav urged the committee to spread awareness about these schemes to ensure their benefits reach the grassroots level.
