The Amarnath Yatra was suspended on Friday due to inclement weather in Baltal areas in Central Kashmir, police said."The Yatra to the Amarnath shrine was suspended on Friday. No batch was sent from Baltal to the cave shrine," Assistant Commissioner Revenue Ganderbal told CNS.Reports said that heavy rains lashed Baltal sections of Amarnath route and tracks became slippery. An official said that chopper service was restored late afternoon only after some improvement in weather.Over 1,000 pilgrims visited the Cave on Thursday from Baltal route. From the date of commencement of the Yatra on June 28, so far 10 Yatris have died, mostly due to cardiac arrest. (CNS)
