District Development Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav presided over the Block Diwas proceedings at block headquarters Drabshalla. He listened to grievances from locals regarding the upgrading of infrastructure and public service delivery by various departments.

A delegation of locals led by PRIs informed Dr Devansh Yadav about their grievances related to infrastructure upgrading and public service delivery by various departments. They also highlighted the issue of prioritising local employment in the Rattle Hydroelectric Power Project.

Dr Devansh Yadav assured locals that their genuine demands and grievances would be addressed in a timely manner. Many issues were resolved on the spot with the help of concerned officers present at a recent event.

Necessary directions were also forwarded to relevant officers for immediate redressal. In response to concerns about dust and noise pollution caused by power project activities, ALC Kishtwar was directed to ensure that the Divisional Pollution Control Board Report is implemented within one month.

Dr Yadav also addressed the issue of left-out Project Affected Families in the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RR) Plan and delays in compensation disbursement for some PAFs of Rattle Hydroelectric Power Projects.

He informed locals that genuine left-out PAFs would be covered under the RR plan and necessary directions have been given to ALC Kishtwar and Tehsildar Drabshalla. Compensation under the RR plan has been revisited according to new guidelines and will soon be sanctioned to genuine Affected Families after approval by the UT level Committee.

Local employment will be done through a transparent mechanism devised by ALC in coordination with project authorities. Dr Devansh Yadav and Executive Engineer of PMGSY Division Kishtwar inspected the ongoing Kandni-Ohli road under PMGSY Part II.

He directed executing agencies to complete the road within a specific time frame by mobilising men and machinery. He visited the project site and interacted with Labour Union members and Principal Employers, listening to their grievances and assuring them that their issues would be resolved amicably with coordination from Principal Employers.

He urged all parties to foster a positive and friendly working environment at the work site so that progress on the project is not affected and it can be completed within a specific time frame.

The event was attended by DDC members Ashok Kumar and Hans Raj, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal Sharma; ACD, Atul Dutt Sharma; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Idrees Ahmed Lone; Tehsildar, Irshad Ahmed Butt and Block Development Officer, Tariq Sayeed Suharwardy. Executive Engineer of PMGSY, Mohinder Kumar and other concerned officers, as well as locals and PRI representatives also participated.
