Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Anmol Gagan Mann explained the Water Tourism Policy 2023 and Adventure Tourism Policy 2023 aimed to promote tourism in Punjab.

The minister said that these two policies have been prepared in consultation with tourism industry experts and are a special part of the efforts being made by the Punjab government to boost the tourism sector in Punjab.

She added that under the Water Tourism Policy 2023, river rafting, boating, water sports and other water-based tourism activities will be promoted in Punjab. She said that this policy includes developing the infrastructure related to water tourism in a new way so that tourists from all over the world can be more attracted towards Punjab

Apart from this,  she said that the Adventure Tourism Policy 2023 is focused on promoting adventure tourism activities like trekking, camping and paragliding in the state. She told that the aim of this policy is to develop more adventure tourism destinations in Punjab.

The cabinet minister explained, tourism is an important sector to strengthen the economy of Punjab and the state government is making continuous efforts to develop it further. She added that under the Water Tourism Policy 2023 and Adventure Tourism Policy 2023, Punjab will soon become the leading tourist destination of the country.

The minister further said that these new policies under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will prove to be completely beneficial in creating jobs for the youth of the state in the tourism sector and will boost the local economy.
