DC Kishtwar inaugurates 2-day photo exhibition of CBC

Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav inaugurated a photo exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, G20 Presidency and Mission LiFE- Conservation of water at TRC Kishtwar today. The exhibition was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India’s Field Office in Udhampur.

The two-day exhibition showcases India’s freedom struggle through a series of photo exhibits. It aims to generate awareness about the various initiatives and welfare programmes of the Government of India and familiarise people with the objectives and vision behind Amrit Mahotsav.

In his address, Dr Yadav appreciated CBC J&K’s efforts in organising the exhibition and urged people to visit it. He also encouraged students to visit for an insight into India’s freedom struggle. He also mentioned various self-employment initiatives for livelihood in Kishtwar district and urged unemployed youth to take advantage of these schemes through proper awareness.

Joint Director, CBC Jammu, Ghulam Abass welcomed guests and gave an overview of CBC’s functioning, structure and working in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh UTs. He also briefed the audience about various outreach activities that will be organised during the event.

The Joint Director said that these programmes are being organised to disseminate information so that people can benefit from various public welfare schemes of the government. Expert lectures from representatives of Agriculture, Horticulture and Fisheries on the implementation of Central Sponsored Schemes were also conducted during the inaugural day.

The event was attended by Field Publicity Officer, Khursheed Yousuf; Principal ITI Kishtwar, Mandeep Dogra; Line Officer, Sunil Kumar and locals including students from Government ITI College and J&K Armed Personnel. Activities such as an open quiz competition and cultural programmes were also conducted.

In the run-up to the exhibition, CBC organised a pre-publicity programme at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Kishtwar to inform students and staff about its activities. The exhibition is open to the public until March 21, 2023 during which people can visit it and participate in an open quiz competition and enjoy cultural programmes.
