Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), the Drug Control Organization (DCO) Kulgam today organized an Awareness programme for Chemists and Distributors at Townhall, here.The programme was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat.

Among others, Deputy Drug Controller, Nighat Jabeen and other officers from the Drug Control Office attended the programme.The Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion emphasized on adopting a collaborative approach to fight the menace of Drug/ substance abuse.

Deputy Drug Controller Kashmir sensitized the Chemists and Distributors of the District Kulgam about safe dispensing and distribution practices with an aim to follow governing Rules and to strictly follow safe dispensing practices with regard to  Scheduled formulations/ NRX/ Scheduled H1 habit forming drugs.

A detailed powerpoint presentation was given by Drug Control officer Kulgam, Gh. Mustafa Khan where all aspects of safe dispensing and distribution practices were deliberated.

During the programme Chemists and dealers were urged to install computerized billing systems and CCTV cameras for maintaining sale/ purchase records of Scheduled formulations to fight against the menace of drug abuse.Later, a rally was organized which started from Town Hall and culminated at Mini-Secretariat.
