Terming the issue of deporting 700 students from Punjab who went to study in Canada as unfortunate, S. Vikarmjit Sahney MP Rajyasabha today said that it will be taken up with the Minister of External Affairs GOI, Mr. S Jaishankar, tomorrow when the parliamentary committee of MEA meets in New Delhi.

I have already spoken to Indian High Commission in Ottawa and asked them to investigate the matter thoroughly as to who issued these fake papers to the students. The culprits should be punished but we would request the Canadian Govt not to deport the students but rehabilitate them in Canadian universities.

The youth of Punjab desiring to work abroad has to be careful from fraudulent agents and the present Govt under the able leadership of S. Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister Of Punjab, has come down heavily on these kinds of anti-social elements. We have to skill the youth of Punjab so that he does not indulge in anti-social activities like drugs or crime.

Continuing his endeavor to provide jobs to the Punjabi youth, Mr. Vikramjit Sahney today inaugurated three-day international job mobilization camp by National skill development corporation in collaboration with sun foundation at the multi skill development center, Amritsar.

The Candidates with requisite skills and experience in various trades like Automotive, Carpenters, Construction, Drivers, Electricians, F & B, Health, Hospitality, IT, Oil and Gas, Plumber, Refrigeration, Welders, etc would be registered for prospective employment in Canada, USA, UK, Europe, Gulf Countries, Japan and Australia.

Making an appeal to the perspective and the eligible candidates Mr Sahney said that they after registration there would be language proficiency test in mid-April with preliminary round of selection during May. Final round of selection will be done by prospective employers in above countries in mid-June.

Stressing the need for skilling, Sahney reiterated his commitment for providing 50000 jobs in the domestic as well as international sector in the coming four years.Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sandeep Kaura, Advisor NSDC GOI said that this fair would provide the students to work internationally and everything is free of cost. The final batch of students would leave India in the month of June.

Making an appeal to the youth of Punjab, Mr Kaura said that the youth have to be very careful from the fraudsters who play with the careers of lacs of youth by sending them abroad with illegal papers. In fact, this scheme of GOI should be taken to every house hold of Punjab and make the youth of Punjab aware.
