Veteran theatre, television and film actor Sameer Khakhar better known for his role as ‘Khopdi’ in the Indian Television series ‘Nukkad’ passed away at the age of 71 due to multiple organ failure. He was suffering from respiratory problems and went unconscious after which he was admitted to MM Hospital, Borivali where he took his last breath at 4:30 am. His funeral took place at Babhai Naka crematorium, Borivali.

It has been reported by Sameer’s brother, Ganesh who said that, “He experienced some respiratory issues yesterday morning, we called the doctor home and he asked to get him admitted. So we took him to the hospital and he was admitted to the ICU. He then had multiple organ failure and today at 4.30 am he collapsed.”
The actor entertained the audiences for the 38 years of his journey in the industry. He played many roles in over 40 Bollywood films, Gujarati Theatre plays and many television series. His role of a drunkard as ‘Khopdi’ from the popular television series ‘Nukkad’ will always be remembered. His last appearance was in the series ‘Farzi’ which was recently released on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
