Participates In Empowered Committee Meeting Of State Finance Ministers

Parminder Singh Dhidsa, Finance and Planning Minister, Punjab today participated the meeting of empowered committee of States Finance Ministers in New Delhi. The agenda for the meeting was to discuss re-revised Constitutional Amendment bill for GST, received from the Government of India, CST Compensation, Recommendations of the committee on the problem of dual control, threshold and exemptions in GST regime, review of latest position of VAT/Non VAT revenues etc. Meanwhile, Mr. Dhindsa called on Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley and raised the financial issues related to Punjab. Mr. Dhindsa apprised the Union Minister about the fiscal health of state besides seeking requisite financial assistance and cooperation from center. Mr. Dhindsa said that various crucial financial issues were discussed with Mr. Jaitley and he assured Center would initiate necessary steps to resolve the issues of Punjab.
