Hailing from Kinnaur, Everester, Amit Negi, who scaled Mount Everest (8848.86 meters) in 2021 and who is the first civilian hiker from Himachal Pradesh to conquer world's third highest peak Kanchenjunga (8546 meter) in 2022, met Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu here today and sought his blessings for his future endeavours. 

Revealing his itinerary to the Chief Minister, he said that he will be scaling the highest peaks viz: Annapurna (8091 meter), Makalu Peak (8481 meter), Lhotse (8516 meter) and Dhaulagiri peak (8167 meter) from 15th March onwards this year. 

The Chief Minister wished him good luck for his new venture and said that Amit Negi has brought laurels to the State by his feat and has displayed his courage and competence by scaling highest peaks of the world. 

Referring to Sh. Negi, the Chief Minster said that he was an icon for the youth, particularly amongst the adventure enthusiast and hoped that Amit will add many for feathers to his cap in his future endeavors. 

Tribal Development Minister, Jagat Singh Negi, Education Minister, Rohit Thakur, Public Works Minister, Vikramaditya Singh, MLA, Lahaul-Spiti Ravi Thakur, MLA Chamba, Neeraj Nayyar, MLA Bhoranj, Suresh Kumar and others were also present on the occasion.
