The Ministry of MSME has invited Industry Associations from different regions and sectors to discuss the region specific as well as sector specific problems with the Union Minister of MSME Shri Kalraj Mishra on 3rd July 2014. The role of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises in the economic and social development of India is well established. MSMEs have shown constant growth rate of over 10% in recent years much ahead of the large-scale corporate sector. This sector contributes 8 per cent of the country’s GDP, 45 per cent of the manufactured output and 40 per cent of its exports. The MSMEs provide employment to over 80 million persons through over 36 million enterprises producing over six thousand products. This will be the first meeting of the Minister with the Industry Associations after taking over as the Minister of MSME. On this occasion major MSME Associations across the country and across sectors will bring forward various issues of general and local importance concerning the sectors.
