Punjab Minister of Public Works Department and Power Harbhajan Singh ETO on Thursday said blood donation was a great service to society & humanity as it could help in saving many precious lives.Inaugurating a blood donation camp in the new grain market, Harbhajan Singh ETO urged the people to volunteer and donate blood in large numbers to meet the demand.
He said that the youth of the state had always excelled in every field and they should not lag behind in this field, which was a true service of humanity. He exhorted the youngsters to come forward to donate blood, which was all the more important for creating a healthy blood bank.
The Minister also asked the youth to motivate their peers to become regular voluntary blood donors to ensure sufficient stocks of blood needed in the hospitals.The Minister also met blood donors in the camp and lauded the organizers for noble causes.
MLAs Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Hakam Singh Thekedar, Jiwan Singh Sangowal and others also addressed the gathering.
