Good Governance is a hallmark for Good Government which opts working with good intentions to serve the people said the Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while chairing first session of the MLA priority meeting, on the second day with MLAs of Kangra district here today.

He said that the priorities of all the MLAs decide the path of the development and so as the direction of the budget. The MLAs should also come with a solution rather than more demands and suggestions. All the legislators should propose their plans according and assist in providing good governance for welfare of the people at large. 

The present government is working with a motive to effectively redress public grievances and provide efficient, accountable and transparent administration, said the Chief Minister.During interaction with the legislators of Kangra district, the Chief Minister sought more suggestions from MLAs for making Himachal, a more Greener and Cleaner State as the government has fixed this target to be accomplished by 2025. 

The State transport department will soon be equipped with the electric vehicles replacing the existing ones in a phased manner. He said that all government vehicles would be replaced by electric vehicles within the next one year and limited permissions would be given at the Chief Secretary level for purchase of diesel vehicles, only as per the requirement.

So far 110 sites have been identified for setting up electric vehicle Charging stations and in addition 700 government buildings.In the first session on the second day of the MLA priority meeting, the MLAs of Kangra and Kinnaur districts proposed plans for the development of their areas, which was presided over by the Chief Minister. 

He said that the legislators should give other suggestions along with the problems and plans of their area and the government would consider them.He said that the cooperation of all parties is needed for the change in the system and in this direction the government will take some tough decisions in the coming time.

The Chief Minister said that Kangra would be developed as Tourism Capital of the State and urged for developing infrastructure for tourism circuit here. Efforts would be made to develop Indora and Nurpur for religious tourism. Officers were directed to prepare an action plan to enhance the facilities for the devotees at Jwalaji Temple with the help of Asian Development Bank (ADB). 

Himani Chamunda ropeway, developing Naddi from tourism point of view, to provide more tourist attractions at Pong Dam and start water sports activities on large scale besides providing training to local youth will also open avenues of indirect employment to them.  

 He also directed for strictly dealing with drug mafia, in the districts having inter-state borders, besides conducting special raids adjoining the State boundary with Punjab and other States.  He said that all the developmental projects will be completed by fixing the timeline. He said that the present government is working to strengthen the health facilities.

The Chief Minister said that water schemes are being affected the most due to mining, to deal with which the departmental officers should prepare a blueprint and if the water scheme gets damaged, it should be immediately taken care of besides there was also a provision of FIR against those indulging in mischief and damaging the government property. 

 He said that the instructions have been issued for fixing the responsibilities of the user department, DFO and Deputy Commissioners of the concerned districts for taking up cases requiring forest clearance.The government is working for formulating a policy for water tax on mini and micro hydro projects. 

The Government will also initiate measures to channelize rivulets in Jaisinghpur area, so as not much damage is caused due to floods.  He also instructed the Jal Shakti Department to construct check dams at other places. The Chief Minister directed the concerned deputy commissioners to come up with a proposal of rejuvenating water bodies under the Mission Amrit Sarovar.

Adequate measures were being taken to strengthen and modernize the health infrastructure in the State. The Hospitals and other health Institutions will be upgraded with modern equipments.   He said that robotic surgery would be started in major hospitals of the state.

The Chief Minster also stressed for strengthening of the existing educational institutions and said that the State Government has already decided for opening Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools in all assembly segments equipped with modern technology.

 In the discussion related to the delay in the projects of various departments, the Chief Minister said that the state government would set a time limit for the completion of the works and the date of completion of the work will also be fixed as soon as the tender is floated for the same.
