As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, voter cards are being linked with the Aadhaar cards. Taking the lead in this campaign, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer SAS Nagar Mrs. Ashika Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Additional District Election Officer SAS Nagar Mrs. Amaninder Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur, SDM-cum-Electoral Registration Officer SAS Nagar Ms. Sarabjit Kaur, SDM-cum-Electoral Registration Officer Derabassi Mr. Himanshu Gupta and SDM-cum-Electoral Registration Officer Kharar Mr. Ravinder Singh linked their voter cards with Aadhaar cards.
All the officers stated that it is completely a safe process. Their is nothing to worry about linking voter card with aadhaar card. The purpose of linking Aadhaar with voter card is to provide better electoral services to voters in future.The Deputy Commissioner further said that the instructions have been given to the BLOs to visit door to door to link voter cards with Aadhaar cards. Form no.6B are being filled and special camps will be also organized at all the polling stations of the district on February 5 for this purpose.
