Sparsh Leprosy awareness campaign launched in Doda

The Health Department Doda organised an awareness programme to mark the launch of leprosy eradication campaign, here at CMO Office. The programme was presided over by Chief Medical Officer, Dr. M Y Mir in presence of all health staff.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M Y Mir said that during the two week long awareness camps shall be held in all Medical Blocks. He instructed the BMOs to ensure involvement of PRI representatives the programmes to benefit maximum of people. 

He further asked the Health Department officials to make this awareness programme part of Block diwas and Gram Sabhas, besides providing awareness on all platforms.

Dr Mir urged the participants to know about the Leprosy control measures and also threw light on NLEP. He said that highly effective treatment is available to cure leprosy adding that early detection and timely treatment and dosage are essential to eradicate the disease.
